Nell Gadd is an artist based in Langford, British Columbia. She specializes in plein air and figurative painting. Her artistic career includes:

1997 – 2004

  • Drawing lessons at Bob Pennebaker’s School of Drawing
  • Introductory art classes at Millsaps College, Jackson, MS
  • Tutelage with master painters Richard Kelso, Sammy Britt, and Martha Ferris
  • Active in plein air painting and drop-in life drawing

2004 – 2006

  • Drop-in life drawing at the South Delta Artist’s Guild
  • Classes at Basic Inquiry with Justin Ogilvie, Vancouver, BC

2006 – 2014

  • Taught art at Po Leung Kok International School, Hong Kong
  • Studied with Celia Ko, Hong Kong artist
  • Took art classes at the Hong Kong School of Art
  • Completed Master’s degree in Buddhist Art at the University of Hong Kong

2015 – 2017

2017 – now

  • Studied with Noah Layne, Victoria, BC
  • Mentorship program for one year with Deborah Tilby, Mastrius
